Hello all!
Excuse my English as I am not a native speaker.

Although I don't have Crohns.
I suffer from constant diarrhoea, pain, anemia and general malabsorption.

The fatigue is overwhelming and seem to stay all day everyday. Become very confined to home and feel it difficult to do even simple tasks.
I have a 3 year old at home, and feel my wife have to do most of the work as I am just so drained and unmotivated most of the time.
Haven't been able to work for the last year now. Ive come to realize Im most likely never going to feel rested again in my life.
This, of course also triggers depression and anxiety!

Please, would love anyone to share your experiences and/or coping strategies.
I am looking into some medications that could perhaps help with the fatigue, but most of the effective ones seem to be difficult to get a prescription for, at least here in Sweden(not many private physicians around).

Have you had all the tests to make sure you do not have crohn's? Have you been offered intravenous iron to help with the anemia? If you have a good doctor he or she should be able to help treat the problem of malabsorption and hopefully return your intestines to a healthy state. Sorry it is so difficult. Anemia can cause severe fatigue; many people with intestinal diseases have to get intravenous iron.

Thank you for the reply.
My iron is normal. Well the anemia appears to be mild. Heart still feels like beating out of chest, dizzy spells and easy to get cold in morning. Low blood pressure is apparently common when we dont absorb enough nutrients., causes fatigue and brain fog.

Hi, Glockola

Bananas are high in potassium, and potassium regulates sodium. Sodium increases blood pressure, therefore it could lower your blood pressure and reduce the strain on your heart. You really should see a doctor though.

Stress is another big challenge that can raise your resting pulse. You may need to ask your GP for other suggestions like anti anxiety meds to help with a high resting heart rate. 100 bpm is not good but it isn't going to kill you in the next decade. Once you feel better you can get some light cardio workouts in. Riding a bicycle or hiking is good too. Then you progress from there.

I hope you can find the right balance,

Hi Glockola,

It certainly sounds like a gastro-intestinal issue. There are so many different places to start. I would try to learn as much as possible about your condition, starting with common problems of the G/I tract.

There are some medications available for CFS, and some interesting research in the area of supplement support for mitochondria. But as far as I remember there hasn't been great clinical success with either.

Stress is an important part of it, as it activates inflammatory cascades in the body which makes things worse. So things like meditation, sauna, and yoga should help for that.

I am a great believer is nutrition therapy for G/I tract disturbances; avoiding processed foods, eating mainly plant based, and starting with a juice fast or better a fast mimicking diet for five days.

Then you can see if the symptoms have settled a bit, and go from there.

Hope you start to feel better
