Can they see from the biopsy from your intestines/ colon if you are sensitive to many foods?
Or do they just look for certain things?

The only 100% failsafe test for food allergies is the oral challenge (i.e. you eat the thing you think you might be allergic to while a doctor with a resuscitation kit stands by). Skin tests give a lot of false positives.

There is no way to diagnose specific food allergies from a gut biopsy.

Edit: the blood tests look for reactions to particular proteins in particular foods. Say you test negative for protein "A" in celery. You could still be allergic to a different protein (protein "B") in celery, but since the test isn't testing for protein "B", it will show up negative.

The blood tests are very good for common proteins in common allergens that lots of people have in common (peanut in particular), but hit or miss for other allergens.

Well, my doc thinks it's crohn's even thought the report didn't say anything about it. She also said it looks like diverticulitis, because I have red dots in my colon....hmmm. My terminal ileum is inflamed. She gave me align, vsl #3 and carafate. She also gave me a prescription for Metamucil...said it would stop the stomach gurgling. Every time I wake up in the morning I get a loud churning in the lower abdomen. She said she was afraid to touch me since I have so many problems...heart, stomach yadda yadda. I love seeing her and talking to her and she makes me smile, but I was hoping for some real meds...I left kinda sad. I think I'm too messed up to go the natural route.

I'm sorry to hear about the dx and no meds to help.

I will say on the allergy side of things that you can have a disease called eosinophlic gastro intestinal disease (EGID's). The Eosinophlia wrongly activate in high numbers to certain foods and seek and destroy what they think is a parasite and if left uncheck it can cause damageto the GI track.

My girl suffers from a form of this.:confused2:

I hope your feeling better soon.

Colloid cysts in brain, speckled blood pattern, hole in heart, irregular heart beat, burning in lower abdomen are the other things I have. I still get gurgling above the belly button. One time I eliminated dairy and it went away. I still get the intense burning in the lower abdomen...could be from the donuts I buy at the food stands. I think the Metamucil is working a bit for the churning I get when I wake up. It feels like food is squeezing through a small space. I'm not so bloated when I wake up too. hmmm
I still want the real meds.

Had an endoscopy the other day.
A. Squamous esophageal mucosa with chronic esophagitis featuring prominent
intraepithelial eosinophil infiltration (up to 72 eosinophils per high power field)
showing superficial distribution, but no degradation or micro abscesses. Nearby gastric
antral gland mucosa with chronic inflammation, compatible with
cervical inlet patch if supported by the clinical endoscopic findings. Negative for specialized columnar
metaplasia( Alcian blue stain).

B.Duodenal mucosa within normal limits including preserved villous architecture and no significant intraepithelial lymphocytosis.
C. Gastric fundic gland mucosa with chronic nonspecific gastritis, negative for h. pylori (negative immunohistochemical stain).

There was a hand note of allergist referral.
LA Grade A reflux esophagitis
Erythematous mucosa in the stomach.
No gross lesions in duodenum.
