Anyone had a colonoscopy with the use of a scope guide? It apparently gives a 3d view to help if you have loops in the bowel.

I'm having one this week and wondered what to expect, how different it might be to my first (painful & unsuccessful) experience of a colonoscopy?

It is used routinely in my hosptial. Patients wouldn't necessarily know anything about it. However, I have had a colonscopy without it and that was disasterous and very painful. Though there were other reasons for my pain so it although the lack of guide did not help it would still have been bad. There is a fair bit of variation between individuals in where bowels lie, especially if you have scarring or have had things removed. Hope it you get on better this time.
