Ok so over the past few months i have been in severe pain in the left side of my stomach, some blood in my bm and some times it feels like a part of it is protruding. I have also been vomitting and feel slight relief afterwards. I had a sigmoidoscopy yesterday to see what was going on and they took biopsies. Whilst there the nurse said it looked ok and to wait for the biopsy results. My question is, I was diagnosed with Crohns in the terminal ileum back in 2007 so is it possible that it has spread further up the ileum and that the sigmoidoscopy was a waste of time as they were not looking at the ileum? I don't want to cause a fuss i just want to know what is going on with me and not feel like i am going insane!! Any thoughts would be much appreciated

This also happened to me. the CT scan showed strictures but when they did the sigmoidoscopy they couldn't see them. When I queried this I was told that it had gone up far enough. I am not convinced and hoping that they will do a MRE or colonoscopy next.

It's so fustrating isn't it!? I think i will keep on to my GI about it then. I hope u do get an MRE or colonoscopy so they can start treating u a.s.a.p! Especially as the ct scan showed it. Keep me updated!

I have been diagnosed with IBS on top of the IBD so I am being told that is causing the pain. I am exhausted with it all, and don't want another test that shows there is nothing wrong. I am on a low gluten and lactose free diet, tried vegan for a while but am getting obstructed so back on low fibre.

Oh it must be awful for you, as if having Crohns wasn't enough. The GI mentioned last year about me having buscopan(usually used for IBS) to help with cramps but it is not cramping pain i am getting. Just feel lost and hope to get it sorted soon. Best wishes to you.

Yes I tried buscopan but didn't help. My pains are not cramps either. I am as lost as you are. I hope you get it sorted soon.
