How do I get rid of this fluttering gut feeling? I was just diagnosed with it this December but have been sick for 9 months. I'm being treated just with Lialda 2X a day 1.2 gram tablets, and florestor probiotic 1 capsule every other day. What do I do to make this go away? I use to have IBS and my gut "flutter" was never this constant but did happen often, now it's ALL THE TIME! :(

INFO: I'm currently waiting on dissability since I'm unable to work and got fired for my illness in October. I am still unable to work and my stress is making it hard for me to do much. I have nausea on and off everyday even if I go to the restroom less :(

Hi,
I think most people understand that awful fluttering feeling....
Apart from taking different medication to control the illness (which you may need at some stage) I found that relaxation techniques were really important - unrelenting stress is the worst thing for the fluttering and nausea. Accepting the illness, with all the crap that comes with it, and being happy anyway is a challenge, but is possible!
Indulge yourself in any way you can - hot baths, massages, counseling, or whatever you feel like doing.
Take care, it's not your fault so try first to forgive yourself for the situation you are in.
all the best.

Yes a lot of us have this problem, including me. I have yet to find a cure for the flutter, but there are meds to help for the nausea. I take zofran for nausea and it works very well. You can ask for doctor about it. Also as Handle said try to keep the stress down. Good luck.
