Hello. I went to the doctor yesterday for symptoms I have had since I was 12 years old. I was in and out of doctors offices/specialist my whole childhood and nobody would ever help me or try to figure out why this kept happening to me. Today I am 20 years old. I woke up with these symptoms again (7th time since I was 12) and went to a new doctor. She mentioned Crohn's Disease and now I have a consultation with a surgeon who can do a colonoscopy on Monday.
I have two questions, first did any of you have symptoms like mine that she is thinking point to Crohn's?
The major symptom I have is vaginal ulcers. Extremly painful. I can't walk or urinate when they come around. They usually start small the first day and get exponentially worse throughout the next few days, usually staying 10-14 days.
I also have always had really bad stomach pains. Usually relieved once I go to the bathroom.
I can think of three times when I woke my parents up when I was younger with a pain so sharp in my lower left side that I couldn't walk.
I also feel uncomfortable and gasy with stomach pains almost all the time.
(Before the vaginal ulcers came back I was actually thinking about going to the doctor for irritable bowel syndrome becasue the stomach pain has been weekly since I can remember)
Another thing, maybe unrelated, maybe not, is that I have always had irregular menstraul cycles.
My other question is, how bad will a colon biopsy hurt? I have a really big fear of pain. My cousin had to get a cervical bipsy and said it was by far the worst experience/pain she could ever imagine.
I am scared/anxious/looking for answers.
If anyone can provide any feedback I would be forever Thankful.
God Bless,
