3 weeks ago came of the injection because this was making my periods erractic and lasting around 3 weeks having the *** every 10 weeks.
starting Femodene pill 3 weeks ago and i have now started having diarrhea after 4 hours of taking it unsure if the pill is working properly.

Has anyone tried the patch, implants are not an option me and my partner dont like the idea of them.

Anyone share your experiences been searching net for weeks.

i have heard that the patches are less effective than many other types of birth control....have you thought about the Nuva Ring? It has been really effective for me...

Remember if you have diarrhea the pill isn't as effective anyway. My female GI told me to use backup everytime Ihave a flare. After two years of taking the pill and using backup I figured why bother with the pill. I used contraceptive foam and hubby a condom and I didn't get pregnant.
Of course, with this form of B.C. it's not exactly spontanious-nobody can touch until everything's in place if you want it to work.;)

i take Seasonique, to regulate my periods. Without BC, I get my period twice a month. On seasonique, you only get it 4x a year...once every 3 months!! it's nice

I hate how birth control works so differently for different women!

My fiancee has tried 4 kinds, and oddly enough is on a pill currently as the fifth. Her biggest issue has been the hormonal effects (mood swings), as she was told by two Gyn's that sadly, some women are very prone to becoming extremely moody on it, whilst others have no change whatsoever. She's tried the nuva ring, the depo shot, and now 3 pills (the "classic" one, Yaz and Yazmine (spelling)), the most recent of which seems to have the least of issues (we still use other protection as it's not 100%). Anyways, she doesn't have IBD but has acid reflux, so I can't comment on that aspect.

She actually takes them also because she has some of the worst menstrual cycles, they get confused for Endometriosis or cysts bursting they're so severe (practically crippling) if she doesn't have something to mitigate them. :(

I've been on Ortho Cyclen since I was 15 years old (I'm 27 now). Now I'm on Ortho Tri Cyclen. Ortho Tri Cyclen isn't as good because my period lasts longer by 2 days. LAME. But I've never gotten pregnant while on the pill even when I've had flareups or been taking antibiotics. Yes it isn't as effective during those times but that doesn't mean it isn't effective at all. The pill is more effective than condoms any day. I've had condoms break but luckily I was on the pill.

I took some time to work out what was best for me...

I didnt want to take a "pill" of some type not knowing how much I would actually absorb. I know I dont absorb my calcichew and vit D as a result, that I need quite high doses of thyroxine and pred for instance for them to have an impact.

I dont have great dexterity because of my arthritis so I went for the implant. I will have had it in my left upper arm for 3yrs this Sept when it is due changed.

I know you arent keen on it but it takes minutes to insert, its done under local anaesthetic in my GP's office and only one little incision. I was pretty nervous about it to be honest and did bruise very nicely afterwards. Have also say it took almost a year for my cycle to sort itself out too.

Now? I maybe have a very light "show" every 3-4mths. Thats it.

Best thing I ever did. Will certainly renew it in September provided GP is happy about it with my other health issues.

Sorry, I feel so bad for her! I was just like her in my 20's, it was miserable. I used to say the secret of how the Pill works is it made me such a crazy witch no one would want to have sex with me.

Ha I was the same way! I finally got an IUD, otherwise my husband and I might not have made it!!! I was SO moody!! I haven't had any problems since getting the IUD, I got the one without the hormones so that I wouldn't have to worry about the moodiness! Maybe your fiance could try an IUD BWS, you can have them removed whenever if you decide to have children.

My sister got an IUD a little over a year ago and it's been causing her pain ever since she got it. I haven't heard anything about it from her recently but I know that she was in severe pain off and on for over 6 months with that thing. As far as I'm aware she still has it but it sounds unpleasant, least for her it was. Was enough to deter me from even thinking of getting one.

My mom got one years ago (so I'm sure they make them better now days) and it got tangled inside and caused major damage that caused her to need a hysterectomy.

I believe that IUD's are better if you've had children, for the pain factor, but i could be wrong. I do not like them, because there is a high chance of tubal pregnancy, which scares me. I really do love my nuva ring....Insert, leave in for three weeks, can even consumate during this time, then take out for a week of menstruationg, and put back in. :) Maybe talk to your doctor and see waht they suggest?

What shot were you on?
I'm on depo provera and it has been amazing. I get it every three months and no more periods! The first shot was difficult because I had spotting and a light period for a month. After that I haven't had one since. I haven't had any side effects but when I did my research on it, I found that a lot of people did.

I have a Mirena IUD which is good for me. I haven't had a period in over 4 years! Yeah me! The negative is that my husband could feel it-it is very painful for him if he makes contact. That was some time ago, so I imagine the string just needed to find it's place.

Sorry if that was too graphic for you.

Sorry for this delay MountainGem and Nic, but thank you. I let my fiancee know she's not alone and she has been better lately.

She's just trying to get to a point where things are "regular" with any cycles that do show up. She was supposed to stop her cycle after a certain amount of time, and after that passed and time kept going with early/delayed periods, erratic cycles, she seems to have FINALLY, maybe, started to react the way the Gyn wants her to.

The hormone issues are something else though, and this pill seems to be the best yet. The recent thing she's had to do was to skip the iron supplement stage during the tray of pills (white ones) and just keep taking the yellow ones (that are I believe 21 in number, and 7 are white)...

Thanks. :)
