I've had to cut corn and high fructose corn syrup due to definite, almost immediate side effects after consumption.
Now I haven't had whole corn in ages but corn bread and corn chips which are typically also fried in corn oil give me gas, motility issues, diarrhea, cramping etc. with 12 hours.
HFCS gives me dehydration, cramps, and severe energy loss within an hour or so, my feet turn to lead bricks under me. Later I'll get severe liquid scoots.
Corn syrup, so far as I can tell, has no adverse reaction. I was reading about how it differs form other corn products and my understanding is that it's already been subject to enzymes and acid to turn it into glucose, so it's basically pre-digested.

High fructose corn syrup is broken down differently and contains fructose instead of glucose, each was digested by different parts of the digestive tract (one was kidney one was liver I think?)

Does anyone know if there's more to corn syrup that I should be aware of? I'm leaning towards calling it safe as I haven't noticed any kind of flare like activity related to consuming it but want to be sure.
