Hi Folks
Could i have some advice please on the following - I'll try and keep it shortish....
I've just got my results back from my upper DBE and its all clear (I'm currently undiagnosed, but in a nutshell have been suffering nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, fever, fatigue and have lost 3 stone in weight). Interestingly after the procedure I was readmitted back to hospital the following day as I was running a fever and had diarrhoea (the suspected perforation was a false alarm though and i was discharged after 2 days).
I had a capsule endoscopy earlier in the year and inflammation and ulceration were identified, though my GI didnt want to confirm without biopsies, hence the DBE.
My GI has said that they will try a lower DBE, but doesnt think it will find anything.
So my question is, is it normal for Crohns to disappear and reappear in different locations and if i don't have Crohns, what other causes could cause the inflammation and ulcers seen on the capsule endoscopy (I also had a fecal calprotein test which was positive).
I'm currently on a lower residue diet which does seem to be helping somewhat. But bizarrely my symptoms have changed to pains in my right or left flank and i have had episodes of pretty bad pain followed by an immediate need to have a BM which sometimes has darker than normal blood on it (I have hemeroids, but the blood looks different) .
I am going quietly mad, with tests coming back negative, with the odd positive thrown in........
