Hi

I had food poisoning a month ago. Cramps and slight burning and tiny stings never left.

First calprotectin 277.
Second one week later 48
Third one another week later 141.

I got pain around belly button navel.
And two fingers lower then navel at left side.
This is jejunum i think? Or am i wrong?

My abdomen feels hurt stiff and sour too. Is this like crohn disease?

The problem is.. I have interstitial cysitis, gastritis, sibo, tinnitus too.
I tried entocort and salofalk and those induce bad tinnitus.
So 5asa and entocort wich is best choice of meds are gone.
Im totally lost here. Should i ask for pill cam? Wich will show notting i think.
Like my other disease it showed notting. But biopsy showed chronic inflammation.

I wont do that my friend. Its all pain around navel. Colonscopy wont show a thing. I know the GI will ask for scope. Endoscopy would be even more usefull i think?

My pain when it is bad is high up above the belly button but below the rib cage. I thought the problem must be my stomach. Turns out it was referred pain and the problem was the end of my colon and start of my small bowel. A colonoscopy really is the best way forward. Your calproctectin results suggest a problem in the colon or low down in the small bowel.

Dunno. Its possible u got some inflammation in the duodenum too.. They take a colonscopy and notice inflammation in ur ileum and colon too and the doctor concludes that ur crohn is in ileum colon only.. And the other pain high up is refered pain. No offense. But thats incorrect info. I have 4 diseases. And i can tell u.. In all 3 i had before this 4th one.. All pain was exactly on spot. If it burns or stings.. Then its that spot.

The referred pain I used to get was years ago before I had any inflammation in my duodenum and it was isolated to the end of my ileum only. There are lots of us who get referred pain on this site. You may have 4 diseases but as yet you do not have a diagnosis of Crohn's. I do. Therefore I know a lot about this disease and how it works. I have discussed it at length with my specialist. If you don't want to proceed with a colonoscopy then fine, but please bare in mind there is not a lot we can say to you regarding IBD moving forward.

If crohn's is suspected in your small bowel you'll need a capsule endoscopy. A regular endoscopy can only see as far as the end of the duodenum. My pain tends to be all over the place; I have crohn's in the small bowel. During my first flare my entire abdomen hurt. Since we have over 20 feet of small intestine it can be difficult to pinpoint the location of possible inflammation from the outside.

Thx jabee

How do u manage it? Wich meds and diet and what helps u?
U many times u go to toilet a day?
Do u have cramps or cramp sensation after meals too?
Sometimes i got stiff intestine. Or i feel tiny little needle stings.
U can relate?

And whats ur calpeotectin level?

Hi all, I'm new. i was diagnosed with IBD in December 2015. Appendectomy 2002. Both times i experienced pain predominately in my upper abdomen around my naval. it is a very unpleasant sensation. My diagnosis of ovarian cysts and endometriosis overshadowed lower abdominal pain. Colonoscopy 2015 of large and also small intestine because of 8 episodes a day with weight loss and blood mucus. i had inflammation in both, however blood tests showed mal-absorption, anaemia and i develop flu symptoms before any physical signs. Diagnosis initially was ulcerative colitis but now crohns. i hope u get sorted.. i feel good now, take only 2g pentasa daily. i avoid any food that irritates e.g. seeds pepper chilli gluten beans (soft or blended ok). I exercise a lot too which stops me getting sick. i do get stinging pains now and again but now I go to toilet once or twice a day unless i eat bad food :)

It looks like you were investigated already for IBD two years ago and had a colonoscopy in 2015. What happened back then? You were prescribed entocort, which is designed to treat inflammation in the terminal ileum and further down. The highest my calproctectin has been is 142. I had ulcers at my terminal ileum.

Hi

I had sibo back then as PI ibs. entocort helped a month while having some positive calprotectin. But that went away and sibo ibs came instead.

now second food poisoning diffrent story.
symptoms are diffrent and worse.
thats a very low calprotectin to have ulcers right.
so its possible I have ulcers and crohn too with calprotectin 277 and 141?

I take Entocort for the inflammation and am currently using a Butrans patch for pain. I have been constipated in the past, but now just tend to have weird poops. I take linzess and use miralax for the constipation which help but I have never been "regular". Most of my pain is below my navel, center and on the right (my last CT enterography showed focal narrowing in my terminal ileum so that makes sense), but I've had inflammation in all three parts of my small intestine, although not at the same time! It likes to move around. Since I have celiac disease as well I don't eat any processed foods. I've found that meat tends to bother me so I stick to eggs, cooked veggies, rice, gluten free bread/bagels, fruit, and nut butters. I eat hard cheeses but do not drink much milk as it makes me very bloated and uncomfortable. I don't know what my fecal calprotectin has been or is; my GI prefers blood tests for inflammation, but there have been times when I've been hospitalized with normal blood work, and other hospitalizations where my CRP has been 60 and my ESR 20 or so.
