For my annual drug fest - aka colonoscopy! lol.....

Had a routine visit with my GI this afternoon - caught up with what has and has not been going on....had bloods drawn, and will be taking a sample to check for c-diff among other things since my daily habits have changed a bit.

Also, on palpation of my abdomen, I had an obviously painful spot on my lower left quadrant.....so def. time to get checked.

Anyway, got an appt for the 24th of Sept - I really like my GI office, 1 month scheduling to get an 845am appt on a Friday!.....

I get the Miralax prep too...which is soooooooo much better than the golytely :voodoo:

Let the countdown begin!

Good luck, I am awaiting my colonoscopy appt, but I am luckier I get Pico Salax! ;). The worst part is no eating and jellooooooooooooo. I hate jello!

Hey, that would be funny if we had them at the same day ...will let know when mine is lol. Colonscopies are my test that don't scare me, I get good drugs!! LOL

hmm..just did a search for the pico....wonder when that will be used here!.....

I can handle the Miralax.....up until usually the last glass......think I am going to try it in lemonade this time......

I usually have clear soup, like bullion, and it the one time I drink my coffee black.....although, with a slightly later appointment, (usually try for 7-8am procedure time) I think I can sneak in a cup the day before!

Good luck Pasobuff, I agree the golitely is disgusting, it taste like salt water from the ocean. I had to chase it with ice tea.lol
sounds like you have everything under control and moving for you.

Thanks Rosemary...one of the advantages of being an established patient - and having this disease for so long.....you ~finally~ get taken seriously.....I do really like my doctor too......

I would of thought the Pico Salax would of been in the states, Canada is usually the one behind the FDA approvals. It has an orange taste, only one cup and you drink water after and the next morning another cup. I have had Kleanprep it is almost a gallon of that horrible stuff. Citro mag is a no no here now. Check it out with your pharmacy, let me know if they do!

Bringing this back up.....2 days to go.....got the prep all ready - will mix it tomorrow afternoon - Gatorade is already inthe fridge chilling.....extra rolls of TP in the bathroom.....

On a side note - my husband had an upper scope done yesterday morning - boy is he
FUNNY when he is doped up! lol...had the nurses laughing when I got there to pick him up.....dr found a couple of small ulcers, a hiatal hernia (not bad) and some inflammation....so on to Prevacid (I think) he goes.....

Morning pasobuff

I forgot to thank you for the great pictures you posted the other day...really beatiful country up there...glad you've got a doc you like and hope all goes well (and goes and goes...hehehe) sorry! Only someone with crohn's would make a bad joke about preps...hope you've got some good reading material to go along with the TP. Hoping you get good news from the scope!

Hiatus hernia can be controlled, I know I have one. Smaller meals more often and an exercise if it gets really bad. BTW antacids rob your calcium so he had better be on more calcium. Men, they dont like taking vitamins.

Good luck on your scope !!:hang:

Thanks all.....

Maybe I'll post a new thread with some pictures from my 'adventures' around New York.....

Oh - and books - yep - already have one in there, have a bag in the basement I need to raid for a few more....we have 3 toilets in the house thankfully, and 3 people - so should NOT be an issue getting a seat! lol.....
