Hello,

I was diagnosed with Crohn's in 2003. I am currently not on any meds (shame I know but I can't afford them and I am not "actively" flaring as far as I know).

My question has bothered me for some time - I get very very hungry however I can't eat more than two or three bites of any meal before feeling too full to eat. I feel like if I eat more, I will get sick. It is such a catch 22 being hungry and being unable to eat.

My question is: had anyone else dealt with this? I have tried small snacks throughout the day however I miss being able to eat a real meal.

Thanks!

You're flaring. If your appetite is that poor it means there is severe gastric swelling that's slowing down your bodies able to process food and/or constricting your stomach. Crohn's can be a silent illness because of the nature of gastic inflammation, the only way to be sure you're in remission is constant blood work and regular colonoscopies. I'm sorry but you need to find a way to get healthcare.

It's not a good sign that you can't eat without feeling sick. It's really critical you get some care. Do you see a doctor? There are low budget clinics and if you get prescribed a med some companies will offer it free.
