Hello all,
I'm a year into this and reading that a lot of you have started and rely heavily on a diary for your condition so...SOS..what do you include on these diaries? Do you use computer or handwritten? Do you find that you ever re-reference it and does it help with doctors visits...I am extremely forgetful and get tired of repeating myself over...and over...and over again to all the new doctors.

I'm really enjoying this forum its nice to know there are lots and lots of us out there seeking the same support!

I kept a diary on my poops and food for a while. Mostly when I was first dx. It helped me with explaining to the dr what type of food i was eating (yes the ones he told me to eat) and how they were giving me problems. I have had CD now for 15+ years and know what foods are bad for me. (by the way that dosen't always mean I don't eat them and then pay later). The one thing that I would recomend is to keep a track of your doctors appts. I know this may sound silly to some. Every time I go I ask the nurse for a copy of the doctors notes, I keep a copy of all blood work done, and copies of when I go to my regualr dr with other issues... sore throat ect. I recently moved sates and this was a life saver. Right after moving I had some cardiac troubble, I was able to produce a somewhat copy of my medical record to the ER Dr, it had my previous drs phone number and fax number, recent lab work, and current and past meds. Its not a complete record, but it has been helpful in the past. Just an idea..

Wow thanks You two!!!

I just noticed there is an app...gonna have to dig around the android market and see what I find but that list is perfect. I am going to be seeing that new doc so I wish I thought of this sooner but alas...a month while I am suffering now is better than nothing.

I use two apps on my phone. A poop log and a calorie counter (to keep track of what I eat). both on android. search crohn in the marketplace there are a few that are specific.

i write on my schedulebook what i eat/drink/did..and i have some marks.. like:
X - diarrhea
X with a red circle - blood
C - pain

and if its too much i double the marks..oh! and i write it at the exact time it happens.. and i take it everytime i go see my gi.
