It's the theory that Klebsiella p. found in the intestine of crohn's disease patient comes from the mouth, acts as a reservoir, and can reinfect patients. I linked some studies like these before. What makes this theory somewhat intriguing is that many people with crohn's disease have aphthous ulcers, for which we have no explanation. What is also a bit intriguing about this theory is that you could of course just take a biopsy from the mouth at that point, to predict disease progress, to administer the right phages, etc, basically a very non-intrusive method.
