HI
My daughter just got a RX for Apriso-our ins does not cover all of it. I don't see much written about using it for Crohn's which she has more uses for UC. Has anyone used this med and is there something similar out there?

I'm on Apriso right now and it's not that bad. I took Asacol previously and I never had stomach pains but with Apriso, I occasionally get some abdominal pain. You might want to ask your doctor about Asacol. I haven't heard about any other substitute for Apriso though, sorry! Goodluck, keep us updated!

Ill caution against asacol for crohns as well. It does work and works quite well in some however I have crohns in my mouth, some of small instentine, all over large and majorly in the rectal area and asacol does not work for that. Asacol targets specific parts of the gi tract I believe. If it works for you grea but I was on it for 2 years and am much much worse off because of it.

Thanks everyone, she was previously on Asacol about 14 pills a day, it was too difficult so that is why the GI put her on this Aprisco. So far it seems to work most of the time but she just started it 2 wks ago. We are contacting the drug company to see if there is a discount card for this-I cannot believe with all of the people who have this disease that the drugs cannot be more affordable.
Merry Christmas to all!
