I just was at the er last night after feeling weak all day and having bright red blood in stool. They did a zray of my colon and they said it was full of feces. How is that possible if i diarehea 2-3 times a day? Is this chrons they also did a ibd panel and my blod pressure was elevated im now taking miralax

Hi aa24,

Sorry to hear you arent too good at the mo...

It is possible to have whats known as "overflow diahorrea". This happens because your colon is full with faeces and cannot physically hold anymore. As your small bowel then has to try to contain the continued production of faeces by the body it cannot absorb water which is one of the main functions of the large bowel to enable the faeces to be formed when you pass them.

This results in "overflow diahorrea" because the liquid stool leaks past the solid stool in your large bowel. Think of it as flavoured sauce trickling down an ice cream! LOL

The miralax will help what is in the large bowel to move so you can expel it. Once this happens the diahorrea should resolve because your large bowel will then have room for more stool again and be able to reabsorb the excess water again as it is supposed to.

Hope that waffle make sense? If not let me know and I will try and put it another way...

On the Crohn's aspect it may be and it may not be. There are too many options at present and it is good you have gone looking for help. Keep at them until you find out what is going on!

Hope you feel better soon. Sorry I didnt have any wonder answers for you. Let us know how you get on.

Thinking of you...

they think its crohns because i keep getitng mouth ulcer on my tounge, they forund sigmoid colitis in the colon, i have bumps on my lower back nedosa??

Thats fair enough aa24 if that is what they are suggesting...

Crohn's colitis in the sigmoid area is very possible because Crohn's can happen anywhere from mouth to anus.

Skin probs also can be a sign. I have a few skin probs that we know now are all linked to my Crohn's so understand where you are coming from.

You havent passed any comments about my explanation so not sure if you understood it?

Hope you get a definate diagnosis to aid appropriate treatment soon

oh sorry i understand how you explained it to me. this all started in february with an eye eifection and since then , all of these symptoms started. All of my blood test are normal but i have all these real symptoms. I also got reynaulds phenonmen

Hi aa24.. ER treatment is Ok for emergency situations, but the followup required for a longterm situation like IBD will likely mean finding a GI specialist, and being tested.
that's the only process I know of that will provide a definitive answer to the question you asked. Not only will it answer your question, it should give you the best method to deal with the situation. All anyone here could do is give you their best 'guess', OK
