cronh's flare up

i was dignosed with crohn's 4 months ago, when i was rushed into hospital with a hole in the bowel caused by undignosed cronh's. am currently on no meds for the condition. i am still very confused bout the disease and dont understand everything. i feel great most of the time but i have days where i feel sick, bloated and have the odd upper ab stomach cramp, is this the crohn's or just a 'normal' thing? i know its an odd question but i went so long being ill before getting dignosed, i dont wants right and whats the crohn's :confused2:

:welcome: stokes. I think that is very unusual that you are not on any meds. It is a crohns thing, and you really need to see a Gi and pronto. Many flares can cause narrowing and then you are in trouble. There is much to learn about crohns and your diet does mean mean lifestyle changes. I would avoid dairy and wheat. If you eat meat chew very slowly and well. Digestive enzymes could help you too. For bloating peppermint oil can help. We are all different and tweaking meds, and diet is a singular thing. :hang: Keep us updated!

Also get your bloods done, Vitamin D and B12 are important!

Hi Stokes and welcome :bigwave: I totally agree with Pen, this sounds like crohns and I wonder why on earth you have not been given any meds to help you with symptoms and to get things under control. Contact your doc about this asap, untreated crohns will eventually end up with another trip to hospital. Also about diet, what may effect me might not effect but start keeping a food diary so you can note down what gives you a ticky belly, along with what Pen mentioned also try not to eat nuts or things with little pips and seeds as these will aggrivate the bowel. Our diet and supplements forum will also have further advice about this. You have definetly come to the right place to have your questions answered, don't worry if you think it is embaressing, we are all in the same boat after all :) Please let us know how you get on.
