I am have CT later this afternoon. I have had several CT's and they come back normal. None of them were when I was sick like I am now. I finally found a Dr. that doesn't wait 3 months to do anything.

Has anyone been successfully diagnosed this way? If I have Crohn's it should be in my small intestines, but I just need some one to give me a reason for the pain/sickness so I can get treated.

Yes but an MRE (magnetic resonance enterography) is now the standard of care for diagnosing Crohn's in the small bowel along with the pill cam.

CT's expose you to the equivalent of 500 xrays in radiation. Since there is now a radiation free alternative that is more effective in visualizing soft tissue (MRE) many docs are switching to that.

However CT machines are more available and the radiologist and staff need special training to accurately give and read an MRE. If you get an MRE try to have it done someplace that does them frequently for the most reliable results.

You may also want to talk to the doc about using a pill cam.
