it helps suppress some symptoms(definitely not all) pretty good and contributes to overall well being, i consume 1/8-1/4 teaspoon as a boiled tea with pepper added which increases its absorption. i find that when i cook on a fairly high heat, the chemicals are released into the water and when i drink it it immediately changes my subjective well being, it could be the pepper that does this as well, as i have never boiled it without the pepper to find out which part does it, but this is what i know from my experiance.
negatives- it will interfere with your absorption of minerals and may make your mucus membranes drier, and might make your stool drier small and firmer as well. on my highest dosage i developed dry mouth dry eyes and was severely constipated and developed my first fissure.
if you take any vitamin supplements do not take them in the same meal as turmeric, it will inhibit there absorption.
my entire conclusion- in low doses turmeric helps and make me feel dramatically better, but has strange side effects interfering with mineral absorption, i am currently phasing out turmeric and going back to synbiotics which had virtually no side effects.
