I am at my wit's end...

I had diarrhea last week and my last BM was D, 4 days ago, Sunday. Was eating low residue b/c I thought Crohn's was active. GI called Mon said CT scan indicated enlarged fluid-filled uterus. GYN on Tues said it was infected, would do hysterectomy laproscopically in a few weeks to avoid major surgery and stay away from intestine issues. Prescribed two antbiotics, probiotics, and diflucan to fight yeast.

I began to slowly increase fiber in diet since Tues...I drink coffee every morning, and added 2 tbls metamucil yesterday. Wed night (last night) I took two senokot tablets at 6 pm, hoping for a nice BM this morning. Nothing.

This morning, I had more metamucil in coffee. Tried olive oil & fresh lemon juice. Out of desperation sent teenaged daughter to buy me suppositories (she must love me)....it took 2 hours, but had a very small BM that was pencil thin & short. I personally think uterus is retroverted and pushing against rectum!

I drank 8 oz of magnesium citrate 6 hours ago... tried colonic massage.... walked around....drank 64 oz water..... NOTHING. I have never gone this long without, well, going!

I called my GI this afternoon, but he didn't call back.

I'm going to call again tomorrow morning...what do I say to get a response? Do I just go to ER? I can't go on like this .... when I do have BMs I have been having the WORST pain...10 on 10 scale.

Help!!:frown:

I know you dont want to hear this, but I think you need to go to the ER. You know with your uterous in that condition, and now further complications, ER is the best place for you to be.

I agree with terriernut, you need to see a doctor ASAP, it could be nothing serious but you need to be sure and for this you need to be examined! Hope you're feeling much better soon!

On a side note, after a flare I often dont have a BM for a few days once it stops... I put this down to the fact that i dont tend to eat whilst at the peak of a flare and then obv I tend to poop everything out so there's nothing to really get rid of when the flare stops (this is my past experience with mild flares only, the current one is more severe and I have been having BMs, some are normal now as i think the flare is coming to an end!).

UPDATE:

I had a BM this morning and after days of being constipated, it is full blown diarrhea!!

I'm still calling my doctor this morning, but at least there's a little less pressure on my gut today.

After the CT scan showed female issues, I was supposed to give GI stool sample for him rule out any bugs. If nothing, he had said we'd do a colonoscopy, but I don't know now. If uterus is pressing against rectum/colon....yikes!

But at least I pooped, even tho it was diarrhea!
