Hi there! My daughter was diagnosed 11 years ago with Crohn's. We went through years of hospitalizations, Remicade infusions, Humira, and multiple pills too numerous to count. Three weeks ago at the age of 23 she had an ileostomy; the very thing we were hoping to prevent. Miraculously, her health seems better already, and her outlook and attitude is positive. She was thrilled to be able to eat corn on the cob, among other things that used to make her violently ill. My question to some of those who are seasoned osteomates...where in the world can I find really great undies for a 23 year old? The ones that hold the ostomy pouch seem to be made for a much older person. I understand that the design may need to vary to accomodate a pouch, however, even the patterns and designs seem "old" for her. Also, is the pouch necessary? Can she comfortably wear her regular undies, or does the pouch really give added support and peace of mind?
Thanks in advance for any and all advice! My best to all of you! : )
