I am now on day 5 of bleeding, getting really annoying now!!!! Has anyone got a cork I can stick in my bottom to plug it up? All I can do is laugh about it, but then it hurts my bottom when I laugh! Has anyone got any recommendations on how to stop my bottom being so sore? I can barely sit on it right now! Co-Codamol helps, but then I get all spaced out and slightly hyper active...........

Warm (not hot) baths can help with the irritation. Good quality toilet paper is a must. Preparation-H can help as well (apply when the bleeding has stopped temporarily) by reducing inflammation and providing a slight coating for the next round of movements. Unfortunately, time is still the best option, though it isn't fun being aware of every nerve down there when you sit, cough, sneeze, laugh, etc...

The codeine in your analgesic can cause constipation - it is possible with that drug to go the other direction and have even more pain with your bowel movements, prolonging the issue.

I would hope that at days of bleeding you are talking to your GI. You will definitely need to have your hemoglobin and iron checked out to make sure you aren't getting anemic. Please watch for signs of fatigue, shortness of breath and make sure you are seen if those symptoms show up.

I had 5 day of very bloody diarrhea, which was accompanied by shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat, and dizziness. I went to the ER for possible anemia, but was found to be severely dehydrated, so they gave me some fluids, recommended I go back on Presnisone, and sent me on my way. I agree with shamrock15. Get it checked out.
