Delzicol side effects

New to forum.. Looking to find out if anyone on Delzicol has similar symptoms. Was in remission for 20 years now my crohn's is back, Dr increased my delzicol to 3 3x day now I feel pressure in my throat wouldn't call it heartburn or acid reflux just pressure. I haven't found any information about this side effect for delzicol, wondering if anyone else has experienced it and if they found any help for it? Thanks!

Delzicol is delayed release mesalamine, so I would expect that it would have similar side effects as Lialda, Asacol and Pentasa. So you could search around here or elsewhere for side effects of any of those drugs to see if anyone said anything about pressure in the throat. The closest common thing measured might be "Dyspepsia (Indigestion)", but that doesn't hit your symptoms very accurately. But that would be a common side effect. Heartburn is also a side effect.

When I google "mesalamine throat", I see the alergic response, but that's not you, I doubt, since you've been taking the medicine for a long time and only increased the dose.

Mesalamine enema can sometimes be an option if the larger oral dose is bothering you, but that would depend upon what your disease is and where your disease is located.
