I got meds from my doctor just as he left for vacation my problem is is that my wife and I have been saving up money to go on our honeymoon tomorrow for four days should I cancel our trip or go and start the meds when we get back the meds I'm on are budensode or something to that spelling it's a steroid AAAAHHHHHH I NEED HELP I also suffer from severe anxiety so this isn't helping

Budesonide ec is a mild steroid. It works primarily in the intestines, thus most side effects, if any, will noot be systemic. I would go on your trip and start your meds. You may feel better, for those they work for- they work. If they don't seem to be helping, you'll know within a couple of days. I was fortunate that Entocort EC® was a life saver for me.
Best wishes to you. Hope you find relief soon. Thoughts and prayers.
Welcome to the community. Have a look around. Enjoy the guidance, laughing, crying and support we have to share.
Also, i would check out the prednisone/Entocort EC ® thread. It could be very informative!
Good luck. -hugs-

When I got diagnosed we left on our planned vacation for Europe a week later. I took the meds right away and did not wait until I got back. I was only on Asacol though, no steroids. I did not have any problems or side effects.

Hope you have a great honeymoon, no matter what you end up doing. =)

Mental health is as important as physical health. If you feel up to it, take the trip, but visit the travelling with Crohn's thread noted above for tips!

I was on budesonide for about 1 year +. Its a very mild steroid and its only absorbed about 10%. So starting it isn't going to cause a huge change in your body. Talk to your doctor about it if you have concerns. But i didn't start having side effects ill i was on it at least 6 months and all i got was bruises from it lowering my blood platelets.

We were on vacation in Florida when my son was put on Prednisone. He felt immediately better once he started taking them. The usual side effects didn't come around until a month later and still weren't that bad. He ate better, had more energy and didn't have a problem sleeping.

This diagnosis is a lot to take in. Things get so much easier as time goes by. Enjoy your honeymoon :)
