Did Remicade work for you? How so?

Did it reduce the amount of times per day you were running to the bathroom? Reduce your stomach pain? Reduce your sed rate/inflammation? I'll be getting my 3rd infusion this Friday and I'm still hoping it will do something for me. I'm waiting to find my "miracle" drug that puts me into some sort of remission....

It helped me a lot but didnt notice the full effects until the 4th infusion. I only go to the toilet 2-4 times a day now (with no D), no stomach pains at all, have put on weight (which i needed) and im feeling normal again, its amazing. I did notice a bit of a difference after the 1st infusion, but even after the 4th i was umming and arring if it was working properly (guess i was being impatient lol) But so far its worked out great

Infusion number 5 is where Remicade started working for me but that was my first infusion at 500mg, the other 4 were at 350mg. It's been working wonders since then and my 7th infusion is scheduled for the end of February. I'm going between 0 and 1 time a day, feeling fine as far as chrohn's symptoms are concerned (first time in 2 years!) and now that I've been off of Prednisone for a couple of months I'm recovering from those side effects as well. Before Remicade started working I was going upwards of 12 times a day. However, it's now suppressed my immune system so much that I've been fighting a case of what the doctor's now think is cellulitis for about 2 months now.

Good luck to you Nicole I know how it feels to be waiting for that normal feeling again. You'll reach it one day just keep fighting.

has anyone had any stiffness as a side effect from remicade. husband quit taking it due to after second infusion, day before his third one he got a bad stiff neck still cant move hardly. so he wont do the remicade anymore. also was on TPN at time so only time will tell Love & peace

I could cry tears of joy right now. This morning I woke up and I had a "normal" BM for the first time in 16 years. :emot-waycool: It's a pretty amazing feeling.

That is great :) A combination of Azathioprine and three Infliximab infusions seem to have done the trick for me.

Congrats! I noticed great improvement just 2 days after my first infusion. I've had two now and am using the bathroom twice a day (still loose) and having minimal pain.

Crap crap. I just got a call from my Gi saying my sed rate is continuing to climb. It's in the 30s now. That's still "mild" inflammation. I wish it would go down, not up. :( I guess I'm not at that remission point yet. Arghh!!

I went from 15 times a day to about 5 times a day. Most of my bm are now soft not liquid. My GF thinks that's a bad thing because now I fart like crazy!!! MOUAHAHAHAHA evil laugh

Pain in the stomach is 95% gone. I still make lots of noise but no pain. AND I can eat veggies again except for mushrooms... for some reason I see them in the toilet whole.

Enjoy!!!!
