dizzy when sleeping

hi every one ,i am on pentasa ,pred, aza, for past couple of mornings i have wakened with a dizzy feeling,,but this starts in my sleep, its like being suspended on elastic bands, bouncing, has any one had this ,it usually passes when i walk about ,but im not sleeping well with this,,,thanks

Have you had your blood pressure checked? Some of the meds you are on can cause low blood pressure and that can cause dizziness. I had it, especially when tapering off the Pred.

Hi, would you mind letting me know how you get on with this and whether it is down to perhaps the pred? I have moments of light headedness (is that even a word??) and keep getting hot flushes and I wonder if this is blood pressure/pred related. I have been on it for nearly 4 weeks so it would be fully settled in now and ready to start causing issues. Thanks :)

also are hydrated enough. my first thought was that happens to me when I drink.
might want to drink some more water. maybe even water with a drop of juice to get some sugar as well.

I did wonder about that as I have been drinking LOTS at the moment. Of course this then means I am getting up in the night, every night needing a wee :(

hi all my bloods were fine ,b.p ect been told pred can do this but doc will not b 100% sure ,,,thanks

Thanks for the update. Has anything changed for you or are you still having this feeling? Was the doc able to shed any helpful light on this?

Oh I am glad that is has gone, what dose are you on for the pred? Hopefully my feeling hot and mood swing issue will go away once I get to a lower dose.

I've been getting hot flushes for months now and I believe it's a sign of infection. Had the floaty thing but I'm sure this was dehydration. Got an appointment with a new consultant on thursday 9th so I'm hoping he has got a brain and a budget . Pain has been particularly intense all week not sure why but roll on Thursday for some answers.

Fingers crossed hun, don't forget to update your story after the appt! If the pain gets to bad though perhaps call your doc straight away...

Thanks Angrybird
but ill stick it out as I just feel embarassed going the GP. I wait for the appointments and try and get some proper help.

So today i eventually had my first appointment at the Pain Clinic. The Doc was really nice guy and basically said we don't treat bowel problems here and he put me on Amitriptyline for the pain ? He looked up my notes and gave me a exam for 5 minutes . Poking me in the abdomen where it really hurts I had to stop him as i just spent yesterday throwing up and bad cramping pain all night and D this morning. He said he was going to refer me in house back to the GI and he felt that based on my notes I was getting worse and need fresh tests.
I could have told him that jeeeez!
So back home now with splitting pain from my navel to the area of doom. Well at least he didn't brush me off and he did say that many cases like this can take a long time to make any sense of and he would do his best to speed things up. Apparently the GI is going to ring, I ain't holding my breath though.

Undiagnosed . maybe its this, maybe its that !

Asacol 800mg
Amitrptyline 50mg

Another small step forward I think.

Oh for heavens sake! If you don't hear anything today start hounding them tomorrow and do not let up until they get you an urgent appt for next week. If the pain gets horrendous pls do not put up with it, go to a&e if you have to. This really sucks
