Do you have bladder issues?

The doctors feel my little farm girl has Interstitial Cystitis (IC).:frown:


I was just wondering how many here suffer from bladder issues?
Does it seem to happen only during flares or does it run independent?

Also, has any meds helped?

Hi Farmwife!

I'm sorry to hear about your little one! Cystitis is no fun at all!
I have suffered bouts of IC throughout my life, with lots of occurrences right before I was diagnosed with CD. Since I've been on medication (Azathioprine & Budesonide), I have only had one mild bout of it.

I still haven't found anything that soothes it, really the only thing to do is to get the correct antibiotics ASAP. I once had it in the middle of the night and didn't want to bother the emergency department, though I ended up with a bad case that affected my liver function.
In the meantime, it's advised to drink plenty of fluids and/or cranberry sachets (be careful of actual cranberry juices as many are full of sugar which just make the problem worse).

Thanks Lara.
So far no UTIs. Just inflammation of the bladder wall, her last bout she had pain and cramping with it but this bout its just frequency (30-40 trips a day). I think Humira has helped and I'm hoping Remicade will make it o away.
We will meet with her Urologist to confirm all this but on the pone the Urologist believes it IC as well.
She's been dealing with this for a year or so.
