So I just saw a new doctor and asked her to look at my bum because I've been feeling a lot of pressure there a lot lately (and was diagnosed with a fistula in the past). This was the first time seeing her and she was very short and abrupt and I wasn't that fond of her. Anyway, she Quickly looked and said there was nothing there.

Now I thought that was strange because after having crohns for over 10 years, I know my body pretty well. So today with some tough maneuvering, I took my iPhone and a flashlight and managed to get a few pictures. Now there is definitly something there but I don't know if it's a fissure, fistula or what it is!

I'm only 24 and with a recent diagnosis of PCOS and hashimotos, I need to get better !

Am I allowed( I don't know the rules for this) to post a picture ( my humility went out the door after my diagnosis with crohns) to see if anyone can give me some input or advice?
Thanks!

Hi. Sorry it didn't go well at the doctors. Can you describe it? Raised bump, pimple, painful, etc. Is it draining anything? I've had lots of issues with abscesses and fistula.

Hi there. I am so sorry to hear you had a bad experience with your new doctor. I can somewhat relate. I had a very painful red lump at the 6:00 position on my anus. I spoke to my gastroenterologist at the time and was told it wasn't anything to worry about and that it was a sinus tract completely unrelated to my Crohn's.
Fast forward 4 months and it became so big and painful I couldn't sit down, couldn't have a BM without horrific pain and generally feeling more terrible than normal. Saw my GP who called my gastroenterologist and it was diagnosed as a perianal fistula!!! Had emergency surgery after seeing the colorectal surgeon.
so from nothing to emergency surgery....hmmmm.
if you aren't convinced by what she says then definitely seek a second opinion and get it looked at by someone else.

You are the best judge of your body, and if you feel there is something amiss
get another opinion.
Don't continue to endure it because of one doctor's opinion, they are not infallible.
Sorry you had this kind of treatment .
Hugs
