I've had Crohn's Disease(Ileocolonic) since 1998 at the age of 3, colonoscopy in 2010 showed that I had proctitis only, MRI last year was normal then I had a phone call last month from my doctor saying that it has moved on/spread through but they are not to sure yet until they get the results form the MRI I'm going to have on Thursday. It was scary hearing what they had to say over the phone  Anyone got any advice or something??

Hi HorseLover!!, sorry for the late reply.

Mayo Clinic states that, "Proctitis is common in people who have inflammatory bowel diseases." http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/proctitis/DS00705 So its very possible that you have both. Crohn's cannot be seen if it isn't currently active or its possible that your Crohn's is higher up where the colonoscopy cannot see.

Keep us posted on how the MRI goes. I'm glad that you're having one done (just saw you're other thread about the blood loss). Was the 2010 scope your last one? I'd have another one done due to your current symptoms. Generally while not in remission, people with Crohn's should have scopes done once a year (every 2-4 years while in remission).

Hope you feel better. :)

MRI went well, nearly threw up everywhere but other than that it went well , yeah the scope that was done in 2010 was the only one they've done so I think I'm going to request for another :)
