How many doctors do you see on average?? I now see: GI for crohns but he doesn'y prescribe pain meds -- so I need to go to a neurologists for pain

I am a full time teacher with pain in r-hip and sacroiliac joint as wellas r-knee

also need to see chiropractor for deep tissue relief and a massage therapist
and now a rhumatologist for more info on humera ( gi not the best in answering questions) which he wants me to take-- I just want to limit the amout of doctors I see-- any suggestions?? Is there a better way?

Thanks:

Chiropractor, Cardialogist, General Practice and GI.

My Chiropractor is an Amish Chiropractor (no medical degree, just a lot of experiance) I haven't found a way to cut back on meds let alone doctors to prescribe them.

GI, GP, Cardiologist, Psychologist and soon to be Psychiatrist. I used to have a Chiropractor and an Optometrist in the past.

@ carocollier - Why do you see a Neurologist for pain prescriptions? I get those from my GP.

My gp writes all my scripts. That makes it sooo easy for me!! Also I have a surgeon. I dont have a GI cause mine stop accepting my ins. But I do need one

GI, GP, Surgeon, Dermatologist and an Eye Doctor. I've seen a Urologist a couple of times, but not currently.

Primary MD, GI, hematologist, neurologist (follow up from stroke), Gyn, podiatrist as prednisone affects the tendons of the feet, dentist (crohn's pts. need to keep their teeth healthy) 2 x a year, and my GI surgeon if I have any problems after surgery.

Just three but my primary care doctor can prescribe all the drugs i will need to take but i think the way it goes is that you need to continue to get checkup on from the doctors who prescribed you any drugs.

Why are so many of you seeing a cardiologist?

I see a cardio. because I had a heart attack 3 yrs ago. I don't have proof, but I believe it happened because of a combination of meds, lack of a balanced diet and being slowed down on the exercise part.

My gp, rheum, GI, and pulmonologist are all at the same practice. Once a year I see the cardiologist and gyn.

I feel very lucky to have the team I have, the best I've had. I have to drive almost two hours to see a couple of them, but they're very worth it. We've talked about moving to a warmer climate, but it always comes back to my medical team and how I just can't leave them.

GP
GI
Gynocologist
Optometrist
Ophthamologist
Neurologist
Podiatrist
Pain Management Doc
Urologist
Dentist
Orthopedic Surgeon
Surgeon - but he had a mountain biking accident and is a quadriplegic. He's improving by leaps and bounds, but will obviously never operate again. He was my surgeon for 15 years, operated on both my parents as well as myself, so it's really hard to think I might have to find a new surgeon soon.

I have in the last 3 years, a Gp, Gi, urologist, foot doctor, eyes, and digestive disorders dietician. They are all but one in one clinic.

Did you see this article on the decline of the family doctor for more coordination.

i don't know if i'm pro or not. My regular doc is amazing and i think i would have had a much longer path to diagnoses if he wasn't so good at seeing the big picture.

because of crohns
regular, GI, eyes , Rheumatologist and soon dentist

currently and for last 3 weeks, i have sore in my throat and have no idea which to go to since i think it's not healing because of humira so i think needs GI or Rheumatologist but it's only a sore in my throat. and it's not like there is anything real that can be done for it. and my eye is inflamed so it seems stupid to stop the humira even if it's for a week or two.

which is almost comical that my answer of which do to go to is always eye doc. currently that is right.
I even tried to go to the eye doc when i got mono :)

p.s. if you have si joint issues have you talked to your Rheumatologist about ankylosing spondylitis. that's where it strikes and it comes with chrons. fun isn't it.
