Yesterday, I went to my gp concerning a cold I have had for the last two or three weeks. At the end of the visit, the sheet of paper that had my diagnosis on it said cold. Below that,, it said Crohn's colitis/abscess. The last abscess I had was in 1992. The doctor yesterday didn't look at my bottom. The specialist I went to recently looked at me and asked if I had had an abscess. It makes me wonder if there is something going on I don't know about yet. Before the cold, minus any bleeding, I thought I might have a flare.

Maybe the summary sheet you got from your GP was listing that you have a history of an abscess?

Did your specialists run any tests? Labs/scans/scopes?

Your history is just following you. Insurance codes, etc. I had my colon removed 3 years ago and a hysterectomy over 20 years ago, yet my sheets still list that I have ulcerative colitis and endometriosis. Each new doctor I see still asks how the endo is doing.

If you didn't have any exams/tests, I'd be inclined to think the "abscess" is referring to the one dx in '92...

When you saw your specialist, were you feeling like you had a flare starting? I'd call them back and report symptoms/ask at least for blood work to see if anything is going on inflammation wise.
