Oh and just wondering if anyone has fibromyalgia and how they were diagnosed with that?

I have alopecia areata. Had it for years before i was diagnosed with Crohn's. I get sporadic bald spots on my head. They say they are supposed to grow back but mine have not.

I have a freind with fibromyalgia and crohns, she's just moved to Cyprus as she seems to feel better in the better weather. We only get a few warm months a year here in the uk.

I had haemolytic anaemia, my spleen was destroying new red blood cells quicker than my body could make new ones. It would flare up and then my UC would flare at the same time. My blood count got so low (3.5) so I had my spleen removed. It's sorted now but I'm on anti-b's forever.

I believe this lifelong battle with Asthma is autoimmune related. My respiratory system swells up and I am unable to fully exhale when I have an attack. It seems mostly allergy triggered. It has been treated with Flovent(fluticasone) since the 80's

i have aortitis, which is thickening of the aorta wall. after lots and lots of tests and doctors the immunologist seems to think that the crohns caused it.

You had autoimmune hep I was told I had that back in 1986
but I thought it was a mistake. What were your symptoms?
Then and now. It is weird to hear someone told that also.

Yes I have fibromyalgia - diagnosed by my rheumatologist and pain consultants not so long ago along with several other auto immune problems as you will see at the bottom of my posting.

I put it there as I felt like I was always saying "oh yes I have that" and was worried folk would either think me fake or crackers lol

There is a link inflammatory wise between asthma and crohns - my allergy/asthma consultant told me some time ago.

Also that crohns can impact in other ways on the airways.

I have asthma which I think is autoimmune related--flares and attacks seem to go hand in hand with me which makes it especially tough when my Crohn's is acting up. I've also had erythema nodosum of the skin and episcleritis in my eye, which I had several years ago before my Crohn's was diagnosed but were probably extra-intestinal manifestations. I think Crohn's does coincide with several other autoimmune disorders as my father has both rheumatoid arthritis as well as psoriasis. We are genetically gimped!!!

Yes, and I still do. It is something I will always will have. I was not jaundiced at all. Lost alot of weight( was only 17 and weighed 100 pounds). Very tired, shoulder pain. Everyone thought I looked awful! My Liver Function tests were way off! A Liver Biopsy confirmed the disease.

I was on Prednisone for a while at first and then dr. switched me over to Imuran(azathriopine). Have been on Imuran for over 20 years. I have had a couple of flare up, dr. put me back on prednisone for a short time.

My Liver functions are doing quite well. I have blood work every month. I do not have any symptoms of the hepatitis bothering me, Crohns is another story!!!!!

I`m surprised you were not put on an immuno suppressant.

I had kawasaki's disease when I was a small child and then almost two years ago I was diagnosed with crohns. I've heard once you have one auto immune condition it heightens the risk to have additional auto immune conditions so it doesn't surprise me.
