Does anyone get sick from too much activity?

It's 4:45 am where I am and I've been up since 3 am with the worst stomach pains I've had in a long time. I was on the toilet long enough that I think I must be empty inside but I honestly put on a diaper just in case. :(

I did eat out last night and that could be the problem but I'm trying SCD so I didn't order much and stuck to eggs and water.

My family went to an Adventure park yesterday where they have a zip line, climbing wall and one if those ropes courses. I went on the ropes course with my daughter and got so exhausted that I almost got stuck. An employee had to come help me because I lost all strength in my arms and legs. I know it was a bad idea and who knows what I was thinking. I believe I'm still in a flare. My doctor disagrees but that's an entirely different problem. (I'm thinking of going for a second opinion.)

To the point finally ;) Has anyone else gotten worse symptoms from too much activity? I know it could be the food but since my family is on vacation this week (1 day trips so I can eat at home as much as possible) I'm wondering if I should keep it to relaxing activities for the next few days.

Any thoughts?

Hi. I've gotten sick from to much activity.

Take it easy and build up slowly. Easier said than done.

Sorry to hear you are having issues during your vacation. I don't have any answers to your question. My son had trouble with some activities causing abdominal pain but that was before treatment.

A second opinion may be in order. I do hope you find relief soon.

That is precisely the symptom that tells me that my levels of mycoplasma has increased. The last time it happened I was cutting firewood. I was literally too physically exhausted to continue. One other minor symptom was a slight amount of mucus in my throat that normally is not there.

Since I already suspected mycoplasma pneumonia, that episode clinched it for me. It's a big nasty part of my Crohns and hopefully the last piece of the puzzle for me.

I use an alternative treatment to knock it down, but there are other conventional ways. I would make it my top priority to be tested for the various strains and or treat it in some way.

It is the only pathogen I have linked to to Crohns that I am really scared of. Just because I suspect it gave myself the worst effects of any of the pathogens involved.

I'm sorry to hear you have gotten sick again.

Too much activity hasn't made me sick, but it does sometimes give me cramps in my gut and my energy levels are definitely not what they used to be I wear down much more easily over time. I'm in remission and I still experience this (minus the gut pains). I stay active as much as I can but the truth is that I'm just not entirely the person that I used to be anymore and I need to take more breaks now and then.

Definitely look into a second opinion and like it was said above, take it easy and build up slowly.

Thanks everyone. Today I'll be sitting in a tube floating down a river so it'll be a much more relaxing day. To be on the safe side I packed all my meals so I know exactly what I'm eating. Hopefully that was a one time event. For awhile at least.

I don't want to say this is what's happening with you, since there are obviously many other possible causal factors, but there is a condition known as "runners' diarrhoea" - basically long distance runners sometimes experience diarrhoea, and it's thought that it may be the result of a lack of blood flow to the digestive tract, because so much blood is going to the legs for an extended period. It's not proved that this is the case though, but I remember thinking it was an interesting theory when I found I often had bad diarrhoea after being on my feet all day. I wasn't doing anything like the exercise a distance runner would do, but I did wonder if some similar mechanism was going on as it definitely seemed to be a pattern with me, back when I was well enough to spend long days on my feet from time to time.

Resting for a while will probably do you good in any case!
