Hi,

I have Crohn's Colitis (stays in the colon) but lately I have had LOTS of heartburn, nausea and gas (omg, I mean OMG lots). Does that sound like my Crohn's is "moving on up"? These are not normal symptoms for me.(ok some gas is but not OMG gas)

Hey Nica, I dont know if its moving up, but I too suffer from serious Acid reflux and always having gas issues. For me, I cant pass gas very easily, and if I dont force it, it causes much more pain moving around in my guts. I would recommend an anti acid like Prilosec or something you can get over the counter....it really helps me.

Yes, those are normal! I suffer from the same thing because of my Chron's and Colitis. As mentioned earlier, Prilosec seemed to help a little. Your diet always plays a big role.

These are new after 12 years with crohn's. Thats what concerns me is that its moving to my small bowel.

Nica, can't give much advice but I have crohns colitis with bad gas and heartburn. I take prilosec everyday and it has helped a bunch. Haven't found much relief for the gas though!

Going to my GI next week and will run it by him. I really hope its not moving I am pretty much out of drugs to take :(

The same thing happened to me recently, also having Crohn's confined to colon only. I had the same symptoms. Had an upper endoscopy and found some slight irritation so the doc told me to use Prilosec. I then had an MRI with barium swallow and contrast. That showed my Crohn's had spread to the last little bit of my small intestine. It's definitely worth checking out when they are new symptoms. Certainly nothing to panic about but good to see the doc over. Good luck to you!
