Hi everyone,
I was wondering if joint pain indicated if your crohns was active or its going to be? The pain was bad enough to wake me up and that usual 2 a.m need to use the restroom is coming back. I'm still learning about this disease, it's all been trial and error for me.

That's the thing,it's all trial and error.Finding foods that are safe, meds that help;we all respond differently.

Everyone experiences crohn's differently. that is the most frustrating reality of this disease. But I can say that I personally did notice joint pain, specifically in my knees and hips, whenever I flared...and especially when I was flaring and it was that "time of the month" or if I was tapering off of steroids. It's not uncommon to experience extraintestinal manifestations from having crohn's flares. Arthritis-like symptoms fall into this category.

If it is bothering you very much, make sure your doctor is aware of this symptom. They may be able to help you ease the discomfort. In the meantime, do your best to avoid aspirin. It is thought to make your crohn's symptoms much worse. Try tylenol and yoga, light stretching instead to help alleviate pain.
