Doubled dosage--new side effects?

I just doubled from one 40 mg shot every 2 weeks to every week--starting on Tuesday. I have had a dull, weird pain in my back and/or legs ever since. It's hard to describe but doesn't seem focused in my joints and seems like almost my bones are what is hurting. I also had a mild panic attack this morning, which I never do. I am wondering if there's a chance these are side effects from the increase in dosage? Has anyone else experienced these? If so, did they go away? I was on weekly Humira a few years ago and never had any of these side effects, just a weakened immune system, so I'm kind of nervous this is something else.

Thanks!

I had that ache and it did improve, it was more in the extremeties. If I overdo it does come back along with the heaviness. I get the occasional flutter in the chest, similar to when I was on steroids but not frequently. I don't know that the flutter is related. But do feel the other is.

Do you find that you do pick up "bugs" easier and they accelerate faster? I have used a mask quite a bit after the first "bug" put me in the hospital within 24 hours of getting it. Plus that was before we shortened the intervals of humira.

Hope you get to feeling better soon with fewer side effects.

Thanks for the response! I have had the flutter with steroids, but not with Humira. I definitely pick up bugs easier--I am living with Staph permanently in my nose with 'flares' coming up every 2 or so weeks ever since I've been on Humira (5+ years). I have never had anything so serious as a bug that put me in the hospital, but am waiting for incidences to pick up now that I've doubled the dosage. Hope you're feeling good!

It's been my experience that we Cd patients are highly stressed which in turn leads to anxiety about the condition and the treatment.

I have always had pain in my right side SI joint. Going on Humira has helped with the pain, but it is never totally gone. Sacroiliac pain is very common for a Crohnie.

Remember, Humira controls symptoms in some better than others.. CD is always running in the background. Try to relax.

Good Luck
