I'm current in a CD flare and have been for over a year. For the last 6 months I've been battling a draining abscess under the wafer. I've been on a few rounds of antibiotics. Bad place to have it drained. Any ideas? I'm going to request a visit from the ET nurse but that will take time. This is really bothering me. I cover the openings with duiderm.

Is there a fistula? I don't have much tips to suggest, I too was dealing with duoderm to cover then I just started making holes in my flange to allow them to be able to drain as needed. It was artwork at every flange's change and I had to increase the frequency at which I'd change my appliance. Once Cipro-flagyl became not so effective I found out of a combination of cipro + amoxiclav. It brought me relief for a few weeks. Otherwise... remicade or humira may help if you have never been on anti-tnf.

Thankfully there is no fistula. I'll increase the frequency I change it. Doctors hoping my current drugs and antibiotic (cephalex?) takes care if it. I'll find out in the fall if I need to go on remicade. Thank you for your help.
