So as most know ds has had stomach aches and cramping etc... For a long time .
Due to crohn's etc..,
Come to find out today ... Even though I have seen it on the box but didn't think twice about it...
Capri sun pouches have a high rate of mold found in them since the pouches can get tiny holes you wouldn't notice and air equals mold.
The mold gives normal kids a stomach ache
Gee you think a sensitive stomach might have a bigger issue.
So no more Capri sun and I am going to read packing a little closer from now on.
Sheesh .
Hope others can learn from my mistake.

Yuck! I've never seen that label. Of course my kids can't have those drinks now.

Thanks for informing us.

I've taught my boys to avoid Capri Sun like the plague. My little guy is pretty allergic to other molds, so you just never know.

We have been buying Honest Kids organic brand for years. Just out of curiosity I'll cut one open randomly. So far, so good.

Mehita,
I am glad you said that because that is the brand we buy as well. The packaging is kind of similar to Capri sun.

I had an Honest Kids Grape Juice for lunch today and I couldn't help but cut it open after I drank it, thinking of this thread. The inside was all shiny and clean :)

Probably should have checked it first, THEN drank it, but I was too desperate for some vitamin C with this darn cold.

Ewwww! My kids drank those things years ago and I never noticed that warning. Gross! Glad you thought of it and let us all know. Wouldn't it be nice if that fixes all his problems.....bubble time!

I can't believe the lady in one of the articles brought her kid to the Emergency Room without symptoms! Clearly her ER copay is a heck of a lot lower than mine!!!

Interesting articles. Thanks for sharing.

"Such a tiny puncture also permits the sugars in the juice to ferment, turning the product into a form of alcohol."

Now, now...let's not totally hate on the juice pouches...mold with your wine anyone?

Let's put it scientifically
Food in the dark without preservatives will grow mold fast when exposed to air.
This is a known fact.
Pouches/cardboard boxes etc.. can have have microscopic breaches in their surface due to handling or other issues.

On a personal note I have seen "green" blueberry squeeze packs - I forget which oraganic brand . I just tossed them .
