Do any of you guys eat couscous, i didnt try it before but I made it today, I cooked it in chicken broth and then added some canned pealed tomatoes and it was delicious. Didnt give me any trouble either.

Couscous are spherical granules made by rolling and shaping moistened semolina wheat and then coating them with finely ground wheat flour - so says the wikipedia ;) So its wheat. But very soft.

What about soymilk or organic fruit rollups? What are your thoughts on that?

oo organic fruit rollups :) theres this brand called Fruitabu and theyre so yummy. they never bothered my belly.
and soymilk, ive only tasted it before, so no advice there

just curious as why your asking about such specific foods....are you following a certain diet?

I am not doing any kind of a diet, I was just diagnosed a month ago, so I started off very slowly, it seems like every food bothers me a little bit. Probably because I am just fresh out of the hospital and anything I eat with hurt a little bit. So I began by eating very very plain and safe foods and now I am trying to expand little by little. I am adding new things everyday, I guess I get overexcited when they work out for me ;) Everything I eat is steamed and blended. I picked up a few books from the store, I am starting to read CONTROLLING CROHNS THE NATURAL WAY and SCD DIET COOKBOOK. So maybe I will combine a few things and come up with my own lifelong diet ;)

I drink soymilk for breakfast every single morning mixed with carnation instant breakfast powder.
I thought it would make me gassy at first - but I haven't had any problems with it. That gives me enough calories to make it through to lunch without making anything want to "come out'".

Soy milk may be OK for women, but it has substances in it that mimic estrogen.
I would not recommend that males use it. Rice milk may be a better option for men.

Fermented Soy is different and it is fine to use.

Yes, what D Bergy said, the substances he speaks of are phytoestrogens, basically a plant version of estrogen. In the body, an increase in estrogen will inversely affect levels of testosterone, meaning as estrogen goes up, test goes down. It works vice versa too, if Test goes up, estrogen goes down. It's not as simple as that, but that's the long and short of it, the body is always seeking balance, the two hormones conflict with each other as far as effect and purpose.

I had couscous last night, I haven't had it for a very long time, and I believe that to be part of or all of the contributions behind the pain I went through last night. As much as I do not think it is going to be apart of my diet, I do hope that you are able to enjoy.

I can take cous cous if I make it myself, (not the shop bought stuff), but I find quinoa tends to err (for want of a better phrase) 'pass straight through'... does anyone else find this?
