We have noticed over the last 10 days or so Breanna was spending a little more time in the bathroom than she had been since starting her Remicade Infusions, her color wasn't normal- almost looked pale/grayish, and she was napping more frequently and not as active. I was worried we may be coming out of 'remission' if you will but she said her stomach wasn't hurting her at all. We brought her for her Remicade Infusion and her labs show CRP of 3.6, Sed Rate of 15, and basophils absolute of 0.10. White blood cells, red blood cells and Protein level seem ok. Do you think our concerns are on track or have any of you experienced this??? Thank you for any suggestions in advance!!:ybatty:

What does your Gi say?
Is this a one of ?
Have you told them about the new symptoms?
I would call Gi ASAP .
Any new symptoms we call and then update at least once a week until things calm down .
Good luck

That CRP doesn't sound good. I think the GI should know of your dd's symptoms. Maybe now that she's had another infusion she'll start feeling better again... ?

Bring lab results and sx to GI's attention and/or schedule a visit.

I will say that it is possible she was sick with a viral illness if she has improved and/or the remicade did it's job.

Any acute illness can increase the CrP level and the ESR can be elevated for weeks following something as simple as a bruise or bump.

Elevated basophils could be due to an allergic reaction. It's not really typical for them to be elevated in CD flares.

And it's best to be cautious about interpreting a single result out of context of previous results as the abnormal value could be a fluke or error.

Since she seems to be having some symptoms to accompany these small changes in her labs then I would bring it to GI's attention. They may want to see her or run the labs again or both.
