Ok so I am having a pity party!! I am sooooo over this damn crohns!!!!
I think I am getting a kidney infection, is this normal?? I am so sore I want to curl up in a ball and forget the world exists!!!

Will life ever be normal again!!!!!

When you say a kidney infection, do you mean a UTI?

Hi Lauren, :welcome: Yes, just about everything under the sun you can get... How to you know you are getting a kidney infection? Where is your pain? I get kidney stones and yes they can be painful and is crohn's related. Yeah I sucks, I find that I get rid of one problem another pops up. Yes, life can be somewhat normal but stressing out can only make it worse.. We have all been there. Do you have a Gi or gp appt? You gotta pee in a bottle, if it comes up abnormal seeing a urologist will most likely be your next step. I see you are in South Africa, Crohns isnt common there, have you been there all your life? Hope you get relief soon!

I totally know how you feel, I just got back from the ER yesterday and found out I had a kidney stone. This on top of being 33 weeks pregnant and finding out 4 weeks ago that I have small bowel cancer!!!!.... it seriously feels like NEVER ends... I think it's perfectly normal to feel sorry for ourselves for a bit and then turn our attention back to the good stuff. For me it's my 6 year old daughter, and next week I will have a brand new (hopefully healthy) son. I also find that reading other people's stories and realizing that you`re / we're not the only ones going through all this **** makes me feel less isolated and alone.

Oh and get yourself to a Dr.!!! 'cause a kidney infection is not going to resolve itself on it's own!!!

My right kidney is a mess with stones, I had one operated on last year. And mine are Crohn's related, can't break down the oxylates. See a doc as soon as possible, kidney problems are no joke. I only have partial function left in my right, and running infections with Crohn's (especially while on certain meds), can be downright dangerous. Take care of yourself, good luck!

Hi guys,

Thanks for your replies.
I think I am getting one as I have blood in my urine and lower back pain that hurts more than labour pains! I was on anti biotics 2 weeks back as I had bronchitis which is making a fine attempt at coming back. I haven't been to the doctor cos I feel like such a drama queen. I find heat helps so I am sitting at my desk with a heat pack behind me trying to smile and get through the day!

I also recently started taking vitamins to try increase my energy and immune system

I had never heard of Crohns until I was diagnosed but it is apparently quite common. A lady I work withs husband was diagnosed this morning. I tried encouraging her but its hard when I am having such a "poor me" few days.....

I finallywent to the doctor today! I have sino bronchis, a UTI and anaemia. I did feel like such a baby sitting there moaning.... My doctor insisted on blood tests, the first attempt was a painful failure, the 2nd a painful success!

Decided today I need start thinking of myself as sick, I need to ackowledge my limitations and change my lifestyle!

Hi,

I went to the doctor today, I have sino bronchitis again, (second time in a month)and A UTI. The doctor ordered some blood tests, the 1st attemp was a really painful failure and the second in my hand equally as painful but at least succesful.

I made a decision today that I need to change my mind set. I have to accept that I am sick and I need to live accordingly.I need to stop pretending that I am fine. I will not be controlled by this crohns beast but I will make the necessary changes!

Thanks agin for listening to my rantings, time to put on my BGP's and take control!
