I started on Entocort a week + ago, and ever since I started it I've been waking up in the middle of the night and having trouble sleeping again. I've allways had a good sleeping heart, so this is new to me. Is it normal to experience sleeping problems when on Entocort?

Since entocort is a steroid, insomnia is one of the possible side effects, yes. Do you take it first thing in the morning (so it is wearing off a bit by the time you go to bed)? Maybe speak to your doctor about something to counteract it?

I don't have any trouble sleeping with entocort, but then again I take 25mg Amitriptyline at bedtime which would knock a horse on it's back!

I take them as prescribed in the mornings. I have to see if it gets any better before I start thinking about sleeping-pills or something. A bit sceptic to drugs like that, since it can be very addictive. But if its continues like this, I dont think I have a choice. I had a really hard day at work today since I haven't had a continuous night sleep in a week.

I did too have troubles sleeping on it even after a week on it.

Did it last the whole time you were on it, or did it get better after a while?

I started Entocort five days ago, I have no trouble falling asleep, my problem is waking up. I feel good going to bed up then I wake up and feel like a bus hit me in my sleep and I have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning because I am so sore and tired.

I do well did both I still feel like I got a hit by a truck while sleeping usually not always gets better as the day progresses but for the first 2 -3 months of taking entocort I would wake up almost every hour or two and stare at the clock I was too exhausted to get out of bed and would just lay there mostly but wouldn't go back to sleep. It should subside once you get used to taking the drug

Just want to give an update on this topic. I have now been on Entocort for 1 month, and I don't have any problems with waking up at night anymore. It was only the two first weeks, and then it dissapeared. I don't know if my insomnia was due to the meds or if it was something else. Anyway, the last two weeks I've had no problems with sleeping what so ever.
