I have been dealing with symptoms/tests/doctors appts for a year now and was just FINALLY diagnosed with crohns today! she said it was mild/moderate. not a fun diagnosis, but a diagnosis at least! my specialist put me on 9mg of entocort daily and 4.8g of mezavant daily. she wants to see me in 2 months to check how these drugs are working. Anyone have this combination before? did you have any bad side effects from it?

Those are pretty common first line treatments. Maybe a little aggressive if your symptoms aren't too bad.
Mezavant doesn't always work for crohns but has low side effects.
Many docs like to start with this first to see if it helps and then avoid the entocort which does have significant side effects.
Surprised she would keep you on 9 mg for 2months. Usually they like to taper that quickly and try to wean you off which is often possible in newer cases.
I couldn't handle the mental effects of 9 mg at first so I started with 3an d let my body adjust.
I also highly recommend you explore all the natural treatments lots of info on this forum.
With anew and mild to moderate disease you have a good chance of getting symptomatic relief from natural therapies diet probiotics etc. with and possibly without the drugs that don't often work and rarely work forever.
A lot to learn with this disease and it is different for all of us.
Good luck

Sorry, forgot to mention it is 9mg daily for 1 month and then down to 6mg daily for 1 month and then finally 3mg for one month and then see where we are at. Worried about side effects :S are they common? Thanks for all the info, was goin to look into a natural path as well, see what they have to say!
