Ok so my 2nd remicade infusion is in two weeks, but the past few days have been miserable. I have a problem lately where if i get the urge to have a bowel movement or pass gas then i have to go/pass IMMEDIATELY. If i dont then i get EXCRUCIATING spasms of pain in my lower abdomen through my rectal area and all over to the point i will collapse and scream at the top of my lungs. It happened a few nights ago and ever since its been nausea and vommitting, frequent bowel movements (up to 6 or more in a two hour period), and pain. Idk what to do, a blood test showed my white count was normal and im due for a colonoscopy next week but i feel miserable n its like nobody believes me or wants to hear me im at the end of my rope with this what do i do?! Thank you

I'm so sorry! I know that feeling, like everyone thinks its in your head and your crazy! When really you wish you could switch places and make them feel how bad it really is! Ugg! Well will your doc give you anything for the pain and spasms just to hold you off till the colonoscopy, never hurts to ask! I always have a heating pad by my bed just for the bad pain days and my doc gave me a script for the nausea to use when I need it. Might ask for that to if you don't already have it. I wish I could tell you I have a magic trick that would make it all go away! but I'm not that smart! hehehe! I really hope that I helped a little or at least made you giggle! I hope you feel better soon! Good luck!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Maybe, if you've never had this happen before Remicade, your body is rejecting it? Remicade works alright for me, but I'm still very new to it. I have had my first 3 loading doses, and now am scheduled for every 8 weeks. So it's just an idea, but definitely talk to your doctor about this.

As far as people treating you like you're exaggerating, I'm so sorry, and I DO understand. I have never been a complainer, so I don't understand why sometimes my family members look at me like I'm a hypochondriac or something. It's frustrating on top of everything else that we deal with.

Good luck and feel better soon.

Well i had i guess loading doses a year ago but my crohns was so bad they stopped and did a bowel resectioning, a year later ive got it again in a different area so when i was in the hospital recently i got the full dose i guess n now its every 8 weeks, next round is september 7th. Its frustrating because i typically try not to complain, its hard when noobody knows what ur going through and people act like ur making a big deal over it, fortunately/unfortunately my father has it so he understands; its just aggrivating when thus far every treatment and steroid and medicine or surgery has done next to nothing for me. But im just trying to stay positive n hope for the best

I'm glad you're trying to stay positive. It's difficult at times, but that's what we all need to do. As a teacher, I have always taught my students that "We can do hard things!" Hang in there!

I get the same thing, it's awful. Especially before I go to the toilet or pass gas, it's so painful.
This is just my opinion and is probably wrong but it might be because the gas and poo are moving through a very inflamed area and so it would be very painful.
When I get them I have to stop what I'm doing and can't even speak to anyone, I just have to give them a sympathetic "please stop talking" hand and just clutch my belly :(

I've never given birth but they are the closet thing I can imagine to contractions, just an excruciating pain for about 3 mins and then nothing for half an hour.

xxxx
