Hello all! I just joined this forum a few minutes ago and I'm already liking it. To start off, I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in May of 2010. I have played basketball since 1st grade, but last season was very challenging. We have 6:30 a.m. practices, and then after school from 3:45 til 6. I was always tired and my legs hurt all the time, sitting, standing, running, anything. I built up the muscles around my knees because I have tendinitis, which helped somewhat. To get to the main point, I have always had severe joint pain, and I can't play basketball this year. While I am very upset still (I made the decision halfway through last season), I realize I will not play in college anyway. Now, I don't know how to exercise and lose weight while keeping the Crohn's in check. Swimming isn't my thing at all, plus I don't have access to a pool. Running hurts my legs. Plus, I have never had to watch what I eat, and I am suffering through depression because I'm so used to exercising. I currently am on Cimzia and Methotrexate, but neither have helped the joint pain. It would be great if anyone could give me advice or tips! Thank you in advance
