Hi everyone-

I would say my worst symptom of having crohn's is being so nauseous in the mornings. It's almost like having morning sickness. I also take omerprazole once per day, but that isn't helping anymore. My crohns is in my small intestine and I've had 2 resections in the past 3 years.

Anyone else with this annoying symptom and what do you take for it?

Thanks,
Angela

I have that off and on. It was worse when my flare was worse. I took Zofran if I was at work, or phenergan if at home (because it knocks me out). I had to take one yesterday.

Hi Angela. If it's first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, I wonder if it might be low blood sugar or SIBO causing the nausea. Just thinking with my fingers :)

When the wind was blowing from the south, over the University cow farms, that would have me to feeling nauseous. I'm glad they moved the ag. farm animals to another location.

I don't have any advice for the problem, hope you find a solution, just wanted to say hello to a fellow Champaign resident - part time. I migrate south during the winter now. Highs in the 50Fs and 60Fs look down right chilly! And just a few years ago I would be walking around in shorts and tee shirt in weather like that.

Usually the worse my flare, the worse the nausea but I've also noticed that if I eat a lot late at night, I wake up super nauseous in the morning. So now I am careful not to eat anything too heavy too late at night because I know I will feel it in the morning. If things get super bad though or if it is an emergency, I take Zofran.

I have recently been having bouts of extreme nausea once or twice a day… but no pain (ie: no flare) to go with it.

I think David's suggestion of low-blood sugar levels and/or an empty stomach are more than likely to be the cause as I don't feel that my stomach is 'acidic' - although I have on occasions got some reflux.

SailorLuna's suggest of ginger tea is an excellent idea though and I'll be trying that later! :)
