Eyesight problems

Yesterday l took my daughter to the optometrist to get her eyes checked and in 6 months her eyesight has gone worse.
We go every 6 months because she has calcium deposits that need to monitored.

She only wears glasses at school to see the board.
She's not having problems seeing with the glasses shes got so we're going to try hold off changing the lenses as they were only replaced 6 months ago.

I asked the optometrist why her eyes were getting worse....he said its probably genetics. I don't know if l agree with him as all our family have good eyesight .....My MIL is nearly 80 and can see better than my daughter.

I was just wondering how many other kids wear glasses.

Could this be crohn's related.:confused2:

DS just got glasses this summer. I have no idea if his vision change was Crohn's related but wanted to mention that we were told to see an opthamaolgist as opposed to an optometrist because the opthamaolgist scans for Crohn's related issues.

Don't know if this helps...but just so you can have some examples...my son's eyes are perfect and he's 13 1/2. His crohns has not been in remission for quite some time.

Mehita we see an ophthalmologist yearly but in between visits we've been told to see the optometrist.

We have DS see an othomaolgist
He sees the doc every 3 months sometimes 6.
He also got glasses after he was dx.
It did change alot in the last few months but he also grew 5 inches mostly in the last year .

My son doesn't have any eye problems that he's mentioned. I would say it's worth getting a specialist to have a look at your daughter, just to make sure - maybe she needs more detailed scans. There are certainly a good few kids at our school that have had glasses since they started - just something that happens I suppose.
