Well I don't even know how it is possible that the fecal calprotectin result is already back but it is. Hubby called this morning and said he had a message at work from GI nurse that FC was normal. Yeah, that wasn't cutting it so I called left a message for them to call me back and...................................................48!!! I am so thrilled!! I can't believe it is below 50, finally!!! Fingers crossed this lasts a long time!!!

:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:Woooooo hoooooooo!!!!!!!!

That is awesome news!!!!

May it last for a very, very, long time! (like forever)

Congrats!!

I'm still flabbergasted that the result is already back, we were supposed to do the test last week but he is at his Dad's house for the summer and it didn't get done until this past Tuesday, for them to have the result today seems unreal.

I know at one time the sample had to go to California, wonder if that is still the case?

I mean don't get me wrong, I'll take it any way it comes just really suprised me!!

Fantastic news! :)

Turned in my son's sample just a couple days ago, but no one told me when to expect the results...

Well hush my puppies and prune my magnolia's! If that just isn't the best news since the Colonel fried his chicken!

I am so happy for you and your lad Clash and I hope more than anything that it lasts a lifetime! :):):)

Well butter my biscuit! Look at Dusty trying to out southern me! Darlin', don't let your mouth go overloadin your butt!

I'm afraid y'all are both trying to out Southern me!!! Where in all did y'all pick up that accent? And if we run out of words(which is rarely) we just bless it.

What is a normal count for fecal calprotectin test?
Is the blood CRP test the same as far as numbers go? The 0-3 normal range and what is the no. considered to be high for it? just curious as I had the bloodtest done.

Fecal calprotectin is a stool test the normal range is less than 50 or <50. The CRP range is 0-3 mg/dL and since C's result is never indicative I'm uncertain of what is considered high maybe someone else can say.

That's fantastic news :)
I was told once, when my CRP was 88 that the hospital wouldn't worry unless it was over 100 for an adult with Crohn's! I'm not sure about Fecal Calprotectin, I've been as high as 1300 and they didn't at the time seem too concerned.

Dexy, I was going to add something along those lines to my post above since it really depends of the units of measurement used. Our lab uses a decimal range like 0.0-.4 but I don't have the unit of measurement on hand.

Ha! We picked it up from you...or was it Honey Boo Boo or Housewives of Atlanta or Say Yes to The Dress Atlanta or Wicked Moms...boy y'all have em all down there don't ya?

ha yes bless it or declare it...right?

I am still smiling over here at this good news!

Doc just called and said son's fecal calprotectin test was "negative". I didn't think to ask about specific numbers, though.

So, yay. :)
