Hey everybody, just a question from my sister in regards to her son Caleb. I told her I'd post it here to see what y'all had to say about it. Unfortunately I don't have much information for her, do figured I'd go to the next best thing.

About a year ago, Caleb's fecal testing for leukocytes came back higher than normal and for his age (3 then). He had a repeat fecal test done this week and his Calprotectin came back high. Is Calprotectin the same thing as Leukocytes or is it part of the calprotectin testing? All the research I do online states that it shows inflammation levels, but that's what leukocytes show too.

Sorry but I have no idea :(.

Can you ask the medical practitioner the significance of this result and if Calprotectin the same thing as Leukocytes? Always better to hear it directly from the expert!

She will ask the Dr, but until she gets in to see her she just wanted to know if I knew. She said every search she did kept leading back to Crohns, so she wasn't sure and thought maybe one of us would know.

Thanks Mike. :)
