I went on pred in Nov last year when the colonospy showed that I had ulcers at the same place as my resection op in March 2009.It also showed I had Diverticolitis.I went on 40mg and tapered off as usual got to 15mg and diorrhea came back with a vengence.GP put me back on 40mg pred and also Doc at hospital started me on 25mg azathioprine in Jan this year.I am now up to 100mg a day which I went on 10 days ago.I was taking pred as well and things calmed down hugely.I was able to eat a bit of a more varied diet although I don't eat any dairy,salad and not much veg.I put on about half a stone which Doc said was due to steroids so I thought ok,diorrhea had stopped apart from odd blip which I can live with.I even managed a weeks holiday which I really enjoyed.I did have a couple of days in hospital because of pains in my small intestine which they were worried about pancreaitis but that turned out to be ok.The pain completely knocked me off my feet and then I had diorrhea for 24 hours where I could not get any control messing myself all the good bits so I won't go into to much detail.Touch wood I have'nt had that pain since so I think there might have been a small blockage which cased the sickness and diorrhea because I have'nt had it since.Well on the 31st March I started to feel unwell again.normal things pain in right side,joints very painful,very tired all the usual things.By Sunday I did'nt even have the energy to get out of bed,I couln'nt eat because I felt so sick and I am still only managing to eat a spoon of mashed potato or some rice and that is going straight through.I went to my gp who has said to take 20mg of pred for 5 days. I am not sure that will do any good so I am going to get in touch with doc at hospital today.I feel better in myself apart from the diorrhea and pain i my back but I keep getting told it will get better,.Well,the sun is shining so I going to have a shower and potter in the garden and think posative.Has anyone had problems with this azathioprine,how long does it take to work,have been told 3 months.Keep well guys x

meds.Ramapril 10mg daily,amalodipine 5mg daily,citalpram 10mg daily,codeine phos 30mg 3daily but up to 8,loperamide calcichew,azathioprine 100mg daily cod liver oil and multi vits.
